Get Beach Ready: What swimsuit to wear for your body type

We finally have warm enough weather to hit the beach! You can show off that body you have been working on all winter ;-) Before you get to the sand, I want to make sure you are looking your best, yes, even on the beach!  Much like clothing, there is strategy behind picking the best swimsuit for your shape.  Here are a few points to help you pick your go-to bathing suit.

Pick your asset - When picking your suit, think about your most flattering "asset".  You want to draw the eye to the most flattering part of your figure.

Choose what to highlight - Pick a bright color, pattern, or additional detail to highlight your best asset

How to camouflage- Use solid colors or ruched fabric to hide your least favorite areas

Below are a few tips for various body types:

Pear - For those with curves on the bottom and smaller on top, you want to create balance by adding volume to your bust.  Opt for wearing patterns, bright colors, or ruffled swimsuit tops.  On the hips, try a high cut bottom to make legs appear more slim and longer.

Inverted Triangle - For those who have a larger bust, but slim hip and waist, you want to add more volume to your bottom half.  Enhance your hips by trying boy shorts, bright bikini bottom with more detail.  Avoid skimpy triangle bikini tops. It will make your bust look larger and will not give you the support you need.

Apple - For those who have a little more in the midsection than you'd like, we've go you covered!  You will create balance in your figure by minimizing the mid-area. High waist swimsuit bottoms or ruched fabric near the midsection on a one-piece with serve you well!
