Two weeks ago, I had the opportunity to speak on a panel about "Finding & Choosing your Joy". I love this topic as it is something I am actively working on in each area of my life.
But one thing I've learned for sure about choosing joy is that it requires disruption of the "people-pleaser aka fear".
The truth is...people pleasing isn't about the other person, it's about us. It's about the fear to go against the grain, the fear that you might stand out, the fear that it may cause rejection, the fear of being totally vulnerable, the fear of being ourselves...
And believe it or not...our closet will tell us a lot about our choice of fear or choice of joy.
Here are a few questions to think about...
Do you keep the amount of color in your closet to a minimum out of fear of standing out amongst your peers?
Do you maintain a closet full of items that no longer serve you out of fear that you won't find something that does?
Do you hold on to your old corporate style out of fear of not being seen as "professional"?
Do you avoid buying clothes that you just might feel like an absolute powerhouse in, out of fear that it will actually elevate & invite you to be more visible in your life & business?
It's okay, I've been there. But trust me when I say, it's time to release that fear because there is an abundance of joy on the other side.
I know this because I've helped several women shift from cluttered fear to closet clarity. And in result, they've accessed more clarity in their business, more confidence in how they show up, more courage in their decision-making and even more cash in their bottom-line.
But, before the work, we have to be aware.
So, tell me, which do you believe your closet reflects? Fear or Joy?
